IT Manager – Network & Telephony
The network manager will be 50% technically hands on and 50% managing the operations.
Responsible for the day-to-day performance and availability of the organization’s network, voice system.
Monitors network and recommends upgrades/changes.
Oversees the daily operations of network staff, and works with management to ensure the infrastructure supports the Credit Union’s staff and members.
The Manager of Network Operations is the resource manager for the engineers on his/her team and is responsible for resource balancing between project requirements, on-call activities and other support duties.
The Manager will be expected to manage relationships with other IT Managers and Project Managers to drive issue resolution and business initiatives as they relate to network services. Other managed relationships include network service vendors and circuit vendors.
Providing leadership, direction and hands-on involvement in managing the Network Engineering and Operations team (teams of 4 people)
Supporting IT management with annual budgeting and capacity planning
Coordinating with other IT managers and business units
Planning the team’s work load split between major projects, BAU work and support
Reporting on the team’s performance using a data driven approach
Ensuring a highly stable network infrastructure by promoting robust design and effective management of changes, maintenance and incidents
Manage relationships with third party suppliers to ensure value for money
Define and manage Service Levels Agreements as well as associated governance and project management.
Organise the governance between service operations and the internal customer (monthly meetings, monthly SLA and financial reporting).
Manage internal customer relations and act as the SPOC for all operational issues and escalations
Service Design to ensure scalability, availability and security of the network and telephony
To manage governance process for technical policy, standards and guidelines
To provide managerial oversight and guidance over: Network Infrastructure, including Cabling, DC, LAN, WAN, Security and Wireless Network Services, including Monitoring, DNS, LB, FCoE and VPN Telephony Infrastructure, including PBX, VoIP, ESS/LSP, SIP Security Infrastructure, including Firewalls, wired and wireless networks
